Francesco Sticchi is Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at Oxford Brookes University, UK. His latest monographs include The Politics of Monstrous Figures in Contemporary Cinema Witches, Zombies, and Cyborgs Re-enchanting the Ends of the Worlds (Amsterdam University Press, 2025) and ‘Everybody Should Suffer As I Do’: Cinema and the Affective Economy of Neoliberal Authoritarianism (Zer0 Books, 2026) together with works in the field of film-philosophy and ecology of media.

With Dr. Maria Elena Alampi, he is the co-founder of the Cinematic Precarity Research Network.

Maria Elena Alampi is an Honorary Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and worked for four years with Professor Danielle Hipkins on the AHRC-funded project A Girls’ Eye-view. She specialises in Italian cinema, particularly gender, girlhood, and precarity. She co-founded the Cinematic Precarity Research Network, has published extensively, co-edited special issues, and organised projects on queer culture and youth. Her book The Precarity of Italian Cinema (2025) was selected for publication through the 2022 Peter Lang Emerging Scholars Competition in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and was named runner-up in the Literature & Culture category.
