Abstract

A recent film by Alex Rivera, Sleep Dealer (2008), focuses on the question of the depletion of resources. In a Dickian dystopian scenario, we can read Sleep Dealer as a perfect example of social science-fiction, in a precise line from The Man in the High Castle to eXistenZ. What is at stake is the Foucauldian concept of Biopolitics, the key figure of our being in the world. On the background, we can hear the punk refrain: "No future".
